The Camelbak Octane 18X 3 Litre Hydration Pack Review
With a name like Camelbak, you can rarely go wrong with hydration is concerned, and the Camelbak Octane 18X 3 litre hydration pack is no exception.
Whilst this is looked upon as a distance runners backpacks, it can be used for almost anything with it’s roomy 18L capacity. In fact, if you are a short distance runner, it may prove too large for your needs.
But for a hiker, walker or cyclist, this one fits the bill. It’s comfortable, lightweight and did I mention it’s a Camelbak?
The included 3L water bladder sits well inside and has the superior bite valve that this manufacturer does so well.
The Camelbak Octane 18X 3 litre hydration pack sits snuggly to your back with straps that fit across the chest and hips. There is only one main compartment and no pockets inside. It would have been nice to have a separator for wet clothes included, but just take a separate plastic bag if you need to swap clothes during your run/hike.
All in all a good backpack with great hydration pack from a credible maker, we give it a 4.2 out of 5. We would like to see a separator inside and a tidy up of loose threads!
