Gelert Explorer Rucksack 65 Litre Review
If your looking for a rucksack for your first expedition or long hike, or perhaps a Duke of Edinburgh award, you won’t go far wrong with the Gelert Explorer Rucksack 65.
It’s tall and slim, rather than wide and chunky which allows the rucksack to sit and cling better to your back. There are adjustable straps to set to your height for the best comfort fit. Inside are 2 rods that keep the rigidity of the rucksack in shape but can easily be removed from their Velco secured compartment if needed.
With a 65 litre capacity, it’s plenty big enough for your first long adventure. There are other pockets away from the main compartment which are useful for maps, keys, drinks and other quick access essentials.
You can attach a hydration pack inside the main compartment which is useful on hot and dry treks and theĀ Gelert Explorer Rucksack 65 itself it made of strong polyester material and, although not waterproof, it will resist showers. You can easily find a waterproof cover to fit this 65l rucksack quite easily and cheaply.
Also included are walking pole holders and an adjustable chest strap also included.
Gelert have done a good job here in offering a sturdy, well built, roomy large rucksack and it’s perfect for an entry level rucksack. Although, don’t be put off by that statement…there are rucksacks costing 3 times the amount of theĀ Gelert Explorer Rucksack 65 and are not as good quality.
The colour looks grey on the photo;s and description, but it’s more of a light khaki colour.
We give this rucksack a 4.4 out of 5. We wish it could have been waterproof and include a raincover, but for the price it’s a humdinger of a rucksack!
