The ZOMAKE Ultra Lightweight Packable Backpack is a stylish 20l foldable daypack. It’s a great price, good to look at, holds plenty of things and is comfortable to wear. But two of the most asked questions about this Zomake packable backpack is how to fold it, and is it really waterproof.
Let’s address this now.
Compact Size:6.7 x 6.7 inches
Unfold size:16.5 x 7.1 x 11.8 inches
1 x ZOMAKE Packable Backpack
How To Fold Up The Zomake Backpack?
It’s very simple when you get the hang of it. Inside the backpack is a small pouch that you turn inside out. Then, place the Zomake backpack flat on a surface and fold each side towards the middle. When this is done, simple roll up towards the pouch and slip it inside.
The video below explains it so much better.
Is the Zomake Lightweight Backpack Waterproof?
Well, it does say so In the title, right? But wait there, the backpack is NOT fully waterproof, only water RESISTANT. There is a big difference.
Waterproof means you can throw whatever it is that is made to be ‘waterproof’, into an ocean if you like, and the contents will remain nice and dry, even if it’s left for days. Throw this Zomake backpack into such a body of water and leave it for an hour and the contents will be soaked through.
Water resistant means it can handle a brief rain downpour but walking around with it in a monsoon for more than half an hour will eventually break the resistance and leak through to the insides.
But saying all that, for the cost of the Zomake backpack, ‘water resistant’ is fine…you would have to shell out a helluva lot more for a proper waterproof backpack!
So that’s the main two questions out of the way. What else is there to be said for the ZOMAKE Waterproof Ultra Lightweight Packable Backpack?
Zomake Folds Up To This Size
Once folded up, the Zomake takes up very little room. This enables you to take the backpack anywhere which can prove to be very handy when out shopping , boarding a plane, hopping on a bus, out on a bike, or simply, as a very useful backpack when hiking.
The cost, as of writing this review, is somewhere below 25 bucks!
Let’s look at some of the other benefits of this handy piece of kit offers.
As stated, it looks good. It comes in 11 different colors, from sober black to shocking pink. The zips are good and are easy to use. It has a water bottle mesh on each side and a carrying loop to the top.
There is a small front zippered pouch for keeping your quick-to-reach items in and the main compartment opens up to over halfway around the whole backpack, so easy to get stuff in.
The straps are made of breathable mesh and the body is made of tough nylon. Don’t be put off by the flimsy appearance. The Nylon used is tear-proof and will handle lots of abuse.
Inside there is enough room for a good day trip and has a 20l capacity. Ideal to carry a few items of clothing a couple of books and some all-important snacks.
It wouldn’t be practical as a laptop backpack, as it’s not rigid enough to protect your very expensive, can’t-be-without tech goodies. But for a day hike, carry-on or general backpack, it score highly. It’s very much a multi-purpose backpack.
Another great thing about the ‘packability’ of the Zomake is that you can’t take it anywhere as it folds up into the size of a small purse. Great for when you go away on vacation and you come back with more than you went with! Simply pull this out of your case and use it as a carry-on.
